Representing renowned kitchens from Morocco, Turkey, Italy, Spain, and Canada.
After a short-lived winter that saw us hibernate for the most part, spring is now fast approaching, and that only means one thing: travel plans! Whether you've managed to secure a seemingly impossible Schenegen visa or would rather opt for a less fussy destination, there's one thing we all look for once we step off the plane, food.
Saving us the hassle of having to decide which cuisine to get acquainted with this spring is The Nile Ritz-Carlton, at which the first culinary experience of its kind is set to take place for five days starting April 1st. Six renowned chefs running kitchens at five global luxury hotels are set to fly to Cairo to showcase their fine culinary craftsmanship at the first food convention at the Nile Ritz-Carlton, The Good Life.
Chef Gianni Mallao of Italy's Hotel Romazzino, Chef Eric Meloche of Oman’s Al Bustan Palace, Chef Jesus Caballero of Spain's Hotel Maria Cristina, and Chef Ozgur Ustun of Istanbul's St. Regis hotel, are bringing their diverse expertise to Cairo for the first edition of Good Life, which will kick off with two days of cooking classes in which four of the expert chefs will be sharing their secret recipes to delish dishes with the attendees. The exclusive classes are set to take place at the Nile Ritz-Carlton's Bar 'Oro, Nox, Bab El Shark and Vivo restaurants. For dessert, Jean Francois Lavialle is serving up the sweetest chocolate creations fresh from the oven, while The Nile Ritz-Carlton's very own chef Bugra Keles will act as the hosting chef and will also be adding his magic to a cocktail party, gala dinner and a special brunch.
With panoramic Nile views serving as a magical backdrop, the third day of the Good Life will see the five chefs craft up and host an extravagant Gala dinner, in which a six-course set menu will be served, featuring original, world-class dishes inspired by popular classical recipes. The gastronomic adventure concludes with The Nile Ritz-Carlton's signature Farm to Table brunch on Friday, April 5th, at Culina Restaurant. The five acclaimed chefs are set to upgrade the popular brunch with food stations offering yummy dishes representing the food cultures they come from, bringing a whole new world of enticing flavours right to the heart of Cairo.
"I am very proud to present the first Good Life culinary art to Cairo. I am positive it will be a corner stone for unforgettable experience for connoisseurs which will continue every year," said, The Nile Ritz-Carlton's GM Joe Ghayad.
