CIFF Names Cannes-Winning Director Nuri Bilge Ceylan Jury President

The Cairo International Film Festival has appointed celebrated Turkish filmmaker Nuri Bilge Ceylan as President of the International Competition Jury for its 46th edition, set to run from November 12th to 21st, 2025.

Ceylan, whose work includes the Palme d’Or–winning ‘Winter Sleep’ (2014) and the acclaimed Distant (2002), is regarded as one of contemporary cinema’s most influential auteurs. Over the past three decades, he has shaped the landscape of independent and world cinema with films that explore human anxieties through poetic, meticulously crafted imagery.
