Egyptian Film Producers Club Calls for Palestine Documentaries

The Egyptian Film Producers Club (EFPC), an independent hub for filmmakers and producers, has issued an open call for short documentaries focusing on Palestine. In an era where artists throughout the Arab region wield their talents and narratives to combat the erasure of Palestinian identity, the club invites Arab filmmakers to engage in documenting and resisting through film.

The initiative, named 'Documentary Films for a Free Palestine', welcomes submissions from Arab filmmakers until November 30th. EFPC expressed its intent, stating, "The goal of this initiative is to produce a series of short films that provide a perspective on Palestine from the viewpoint of Arab people, offering future generations in the Arab world a chance to explore and understand our shared history."

This invitation is extended to all documentary filmmakers in the Arab region, with films ranging from three minutes to a maximum of 15 minutes in duration. While it is not mandatory for the films to have been previously produced, EFPC encourages applicants to create films during November and utilize available online archival materials. The film submitted in this initiative may potentially comprise a compilation of archival content narrating the story of Palestine.
