Hayy Jameel Art Centre Hosts ‘Palestine Cinema Days’ in Jeddah
Two Palestinian films - 'Gaza Surf Club' and 'Farha' - will be screened on November 17th and the 18th.
Palestine Cinema Days, an annual event celebrating Palestinian films by Filmlab Palestine, is bringing two films to Hayy Cinema art centre in Jeddah on November 17th and the 18th.
'Gaza Surf Club', a 2016 German documentary directed by Philip Gnadt and Mickey Yamine, takes a poignant "day in the life" perspective. The movie follows a group of Gazans who find freedom through the art of surfing along the Mediterranean coast of the Gaza Strip.
'Farha', a 2021 internationally co-produced historical drama, delves into the coming-of-age experience of a Palestinian girl during the Nakba, the tragic displacement of Palestinians from their homeland in 1948. Directed by Darin J. Sallam, the film is based on a true story that Sallam was told as a child, recounting the extraordinary journey of a girl named Radieh.
These exclusive film screenings are open to all on a first-come, first-served basis, and admission is free of charge. As a gesture of solidarity with Ghazans, guests are encouraged to make on-site donations to KSrelief via the Sahem app.
