Jeddah Islamic Arts Biennale Will Make a Comeback in January 2025
The many facets of Islamic art - from geometric patterns to organic motifs - will be exhibited.
Celebrating Saudi Arabia as the birthplace of Islam, the Jeddah Islamic Arts Biennale is set to return in January 2025 at the Hajj Terminal of King Abdulaziz Airport, lasting for a full five months. Islamic art from across the world will be exhibited to international audiences, exploring themes of spirituality and its aesthetics, from Islam’s inception right up to the present day.
The inaugural Islamic Arts Biennale took place in 2023 on the theme of Awwal Bayt (First House). The phrase comes from the Qur’an and refers to the Kaaba in Makkah, the most sacred site in Islam. Art showcasing the many facets of Islamic art - geometric patterns, organic motifs, calligraphy and much more - will be plentifully displayed around the Hajj Terminal.
The event will be free and open to all, inviting guests to dive into the depths of Islamic artistry by presenting a rich and varied catalogue of art from across Islamic civilisation.
