Marwan Hamed to Head Jury for Short Films at Red Sea Film Festival
Egyptian Director Marwan Hamed will be joined by Finnish-Somali writer and director Khadar Ayderus, and Saudi Arabian actor and director Ahd Kamel.
Egyptian director Marwan Hamed - famous for films like 'The Yacoubian Building', 'The Blue Elephant' series and 'The Originals' - will serve as jury head over the short film competition at the Red Sea International Film Festival in Saudi Arabia, which will begin on December 6th. The festival's inaugural edition will see prestigious filmmakers and movie stars gather at Jeddah to celebrate the best in regional and international cinema as part of an unprecedented event.
Hamed will be joined by Finnish-Somali writer and director Khadar Ayderus, and Saudi Arabian actor and director Ahd Kamel.
Meanwhile the festival's feature film competition will be headed by Italian Oscar-winning director Giuseppe Tornatore. His jury will include Tunisian actress Hend Sabry (who, incidentally, starred in Marwan Hamed's 'The Blue Elephant 2'), Saudi filmmaker Abdulaziz Alshlahei, director Daniela Michel and Palestinian-American filmmaker Cherien Dabis.
