More Than 4,000 Cultural Events Scheduled During Ramadan in Egypt

The Ministry of Culture has launched ‘Ramadan Masri’, a nationwide cultural programme featuring more than 4,560 artistic and community events across Cairo and all governorates during Ramadan.

Minister of Culture Gehan Zaki said the initiative reflects Egyptian identity and is designed to engage different segments of society through activities staged at culture palaces, theatres and public venues nationwide.

The General Authority for Culture Palaces, chaired by Major General Khaled Al-Labban, will present more than 679 flagship events at eight central sites in Cairo and the regions, alongside hundreds of activities at affiliated venues.

Programming at the Cultural Park includes talent showcases, workshops, exhibitions for cultural associations and people with disabilities, daily children’s quizzes, and book and heritage crafts displays. A second edition of the online children’s competition ‘Fawazeer Tout’, titled ‘30 Professions in 30 Days’, will run throughout Ramadan.

The Supreme Council of Culture is organising ‘Ramadan… Light and Creativity’ until March 20th, 2026, with approximately 262 activities including lectures, poetry evenings, exhibitions, music and theatre performances and children’s workshops.

Its cultural committees will also host events on regional customs, literature and heritage, covering topics such as Sufi poetry, the Epistle of Forgiveness, Ibn Al-Haytham’s legacy and Sirat Al-Hilaliyyah evenings. The National Centre for Child Culture will deliver 240 ‘Ahlan Ramadan’ activities between February 20th and March 10th, 2026, featuring puppet shows, art workshops, traditional games and inclusion activities.

The Cultural Development Fund will stage 116 events, including religious chanting performances by Mahmoud Al-Tohamy, Ihab Younis and Mostafa Gamal, as well as folk shows, concerts and 71 workshops in acting, music and visual arts.

The Cairo Opera House will present performances from February 26th to March 9th, 2026, across multiple stages, including Arab and Islamic cultural nights held in cooperation with several embassies, alongside concerts by Al Hadra and Sheikh Yassin Al-Tohamy.

The Theatre Sector will launch the ‘Hel Helak’ programme on February 28th, 2026, while the Artistic House for Folk and Performing Arts will host the Balloon Ramadan Tent, National Circus shows and children’s productions.

Additional programming includes the General Egyptian Book Organization’s Faisal Ramadan Book Fair, exhibitions at the National Library and Archives, and weekly screenings organised by the National Centre for Cinema, which will also contribute heritage films to the first Heritage of Egypt Forum from March 1st to 10th.
