Museums Across Sharjah Now Open to the Public for Free Until March 3rd
The museums will also host a wide range of educational workshops about the Emirate’s cultural heritage and history.
Museums across Sharjah - such as Sharjah Fort (Al Hisn), Sharjah Calligraphy Museum, Bait Al Naboodah and Hisn Khorfakkan - are now open to the public for free until March 3rd, according to the Sharjah Museums Authority (SMA).
Besides allowing a free entry to the Sarjah’s museums, the SMA will also offer visitors a diverse range of educational workshops about the Emirate’s cultural heritage and history, like the Al Hisn Towers workshop at Sharjah Fort, which will delve into the history of the iconic 1823 AD building. The Sharjah Calligraphy Museum will offer a ‘Letter Pendant’ workshop, where participants will learn how to craft unique pendants from colourful wires, bright beads and Arabic calligraphy. Additionally, the museum will host the ‘Honourable Ornament’ exhibition from March 1st to August 18th. Meanwhile, the Sharjah Heritage museum will host workshops showcasing Arab customs and traditions.
The SMA has also launched ‘Museums Express’, a mobile bus initiative, which will begin operating in Dibba Al Hisn on February 28th, and at the heart of Sharjah on March 1st and March 3rd. The initiative aims to offer tourists and local citizens an immersive journey through various Sharjah Museums collections without having to visit the actual museums.
All of Sharjah's museums are open from Saturdays to Thursdays from 8 AM to 8PM, while on Fridays, they are open from 4 PM to 8 PM.
