‘Seeking Haven for Mr Rambo’ Makes US Debut at Santa Barbara Festival

Egyptian film ‘Seeking Haven for Mr. Rambo’, directed by Khaled Mansour, is set to make its US debut at the 40th Santa Barbara International Film Festival, with screenings on February 9th, 11th and 14th. The film’s screening at the festival follows a strong showing at Belgium’s Cinemamed Festival, where it earned both the Grand Prize and the Jury Award.

Inspired by true events, the film follows Hassan, a young man in his 20s, as he sets out to protect Rambo, his dog and closest companion, from an unknown threat. However, his mission takes an unexpected turn when he finds himself in a dire situation, facing hostility not just from his landlord but from society itself.

Held annually since 1986, the SBIFF in California serves as a prominent stage for international films.
