Vhils Launches Print from Art D’Egypte’s Installation 'Doors of Cairo'
Vhils’ Installation 'Doors of Cairo' with Art D’Egypte is now available as a giclée print edition.
Portuguese artist Alexandre Farto, known as Vhils, has launched a giclée print edition drawn from his Arte D’Egypte project, 'Doors of Cairo'. The original installation was created beside the Pyramids of Giza and built from reclaimed doors collected from the streets of Cairo and Lisbon. These door fragments carried everyday traces and were reassembled into a temporary structure in the desert. For Farto, he wanted to turn these familiar objects into a shared, collective archive, while also becoming symbolic portals between past and present. Now as a print, the installation can live on beyond the desert. The limited edition print is available to purchase at Underdogs Shop online until December 21st, signed and numbered by Vhils himself.
