EGP 10B Support Program Launched for Startups & SMEs in Egypt
The Egyptian government will provide EGP 10 billion in concessional funding to startups and SMEs through a new support programme.
The Egyptian government is preparing a new initiative that will allocate EGP 10 billion to support startups and small-to-medium enterprises. The funding will be channelled through organisations such as the Micro, Small & Medium Enterprises Development Agency (MSMEDA) and the central bank to help entrepreneurs access concessional financing.
Under the programme, selected startups will be eligible for reduced-cost financing and support tailored for early-stage businesses, helping to close the funding gap that has long challenged Egypt’s entrepreneurship ecosystem.
The initiative is designed to help innovative businesses scale operations, meet working-capital needs, and accelerate growth — particularly in sectors the government deems strategic for economic diversification and job creation.
The push comes as Egypt seeks to strengthen the local startup ecosystem, improve access to capital for founders, and encourage SMEs to play a larger role in the country’s economic future.
While details on eligibility criteria, funding terms and rollout timeline are still pending, more information will be released in the coming weeks as part of the government’s effort to stimulate entrepreneurship ahead of broader economic reforms.
