Marsh Plans Captive Insurance Services Expansion in Bahrain
The insurance broker plans to become the first international broker to offer captive insurance management services in Bahrain.
Global insurance broker Marsh plans to expand its Bahrain operations to include captive insurance management services, which would make it the first international broker to offer such services in the Kingdom.
The announcement was made during Gateway Gulf 2026 in Manama, hosted by the Bahrain Economic Development Board. Marsh said the expansion reflects growing regional demand for more sophisticated risk-financing tools as businesses face pressures ranging from supply chain disruption and cyber risk to healthcare and employee benefit costs.
Noor Al-Haji, CEO of Marsh Bahrain and Kuwait, said Bahrain’s regulatory framework and the Gulf’s ongoing economic diversification made the market suitable for expanding captive insurance services.
Marsh already operates across Bahrain, Qatar, Saudi Arabia and the UAE, providing risk management, insurance broking and specialist advisory services. The company was the first international broker to receive captive insurance licences in Dubai in 2008 and Abu Dhabi in 2018.
Marsh Bahrain’s captive services, alongside the firm’s wider regional captive operations, will be led by Marcin Antosik, Captive Regional Leader for the Middle East.
