Saudi Arabia-Based Sports Startup Pala De 7 Raises $1 Million
The startup's platform focuses on a user-centric experience for padel players, utilising AI technology for game matching.
Saudi Arabian sports startup Pala De 7 (Pd7) has secured a SAR 3,750,000 ($1 million) investment in a funding round led by Grintafy, AlTahan, and Shaghaf Investments.
Founded in 2023 by Tarek Ashoor, Pd7 is set to introduce a platform designed exclusively for padel enthusiasts across the Middle East, starting in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. The startup's platform focuses on providing a user-centric experience, facilitating field registration, easy booking, and utilising AI technology for game matching.
The investment is earmarked for the expansion of Pd7 throughout Saudi Arabia, with plans to introduce advanced technology that streamlines pre-booking, gameplay, and post-booking experiences. Grintafy, the leading contributor to the funding round, aims to diversify its sports portfolio beyond football, aligning with Saudi Arabia's Vision 2030 and the Ministry of Sports' objectives.
“Entering a new sport is an exciting moment for us. The recent surge in padel's popularity, especially in Saudi Arabia, piqued our interest,” Majdi Allulu, CEO of Grintafy, tells StartupScene. “We are recreating the success story of Grintafy in other sports. This has been our vision from the beginning.”
Pd7 is expected to launch in early 2024, providing its user-friendly platform for padel enthusiasts on both iOS and Android platforms.
