SpaceX Operated Internet Provider Starlink Now Available in UAE

Satellite internet service Starlink is now available in the United Arab Emirates, according to the company’s website, with residential packages starting at Dh230 per month.

The service requires users to purchase a standard connection kit priced at Dh1,545 including shipping, with delivery typically estimated between one and two weeks. The kit includes a compact antenna designed to connect directly to Starlink’s satellite network.

Starlink is operated by SpaceX and provides internet through a network of thousands of low-Earth orbit satellites positioned about 550 kilometres above the planet. These satellites operate much closer to Earth than traditional communications satellites, which typically orbit between 20,000 and 35,000 kilometres, allowing faster data speeds and lower latency.

The standard antenna devices used to access the network weigh less than three kilograms, contain no moving parts, and are designed to withstand strong winds. Satellite connectivity through the system does not rely on terrestrial mobile towers or fibre networks.

Regulatory groundwork for satellite internet services in the country had been under review by the Telecommunications and Digital Government Regulatory Authority, which indicated in 2024 that Starlink had been granted a regulatory licence lasting approximately ten years for maritime satellite internet services.

Starlink services are already available across several countries in the region, including Qatar, Oman, Bahrain, Jordan, and Yemen.

Separately, Emirates announced plans in late 2025 to begin installing Starlink connectivity across its aircraft fleet.
