25% of Private Sector Engineering Jobs Will Now Be Nationalised
This initiative is expected to boost Saudi participation in the labour market, particularly within the engineering sector.
Effective July 21st, Saudi Arabia will implement a new regulation to nationalise 25% of engineering professions within private sector establishments employing five or more workers.
This decision, jointly announced by the Ministry of Human Resources and Social Development (HRSD) and the Ministry of Municipal and Rural Affairs and Housing, is part of a broader effort to create more stimulating and productive job opportunities for Saudi citizens across various regions of the kingdom.
To facilitate this transition, private sector establishments will receive various incentives and support programmes provided by the HRSD system. These programmes include assistance in recruiting and searching for suitable workers, necessary training and qualification, employment and job retention, and priority access to all nationalisation support programmes available within the system.
