Abu Dhabi Ranks as World's Top City for Internet Speed
The UAE’s capital city placed ahead of global powerhouses like New York and London.
Abu Dhabi has officially been named the world’s best city for internet speed by Kearney’s Global Cities Index, placing it ahead of global powerhouses like New York and London in the newly introduced ‘Information Exchange’ category.
This marks the first time internet speed has been included in the Global Cities Index, which evaluates connectivity and digital infrastructure across major cities. While Abu Dhabi topped the list for internet speed, New York followed closely in second place, with London ranking much lower at 97th.
The report highlights the growing importance of the digital economy, where services are outpacing goods, emphasizing how key cities around the world are adapting to the shift. Other cities ranking high for internet connection included Singapore, Shanghai, Beijing, and Bangkok.
