Aid to Gaza Now Delivered from Egypt Through Karm Abu Salem Crossing
Previously, aid convoys had to travel a long and cumbersome route, causing delays.
Against the backdrop of the ongoing genocide against Palestinians in the Gaza Strip, the Karm Abu Salem border crossing between Egypt and occupied Palestine has been opened to expedite the delivery of humanitarian and relief aid to Gaza, according to Diaa Rashwan, Head of the Egyptian State Information Service.
This new agreement with Israel will enable aid trucks, previously inspected at the Israeli Nitsana crossing, to be processed at Karm Abu Salem and then proceed to the Rafah border crossing for entry into Gaza.
Previously, aid convoys had to travel a long and cumbersome route, causing delays. The international community has been pressuring Israel to open the Karm Abu Salem crossing, which will now allow for faster and increased aid deliveries, with approximately 60-80 trucks expected daily.
