Air Taxi Airports to Be Built at Palm Jumeirah & Abu Dhabi Corniche
The flying taxis, which will operate entirely over water, will cut a 90-minute trip down to about 20 minutes.
Following the announcement of flying taxis’ arrival in the Emirates as soon as 2026, plans have been revealed for the first two vertical take-off airports that will host the electric air transportation alternative.
The first ‘vertiports’ will be built at the Falcon Heliport at Atlantis the Palm in Dubai, and the Marina Mall heliport in Abu Dhabi’s Corniche. The quick electric-powered flight between the two emirates will cut down what can in some cases be a 90-minute drive to around a 20-minute flight.
The ‘vertiports’ will be designed in collaboration with US electric flying car-maker Archer, connecting Dubai and Abu Dhabi with their ‘Midnight’ model, an electric four-passenger piloted aircraft designed to perform rapid back-to-back flights with minimal charge time between flights, which will operate entirely over water, away from dense urban centres, with scenic views of the city and the Arabian Sea from both sides of the vehicle.
