Bibliotheca Alexandrina Launches Virtual Antiquities Museum App

The Bibliotheca Alexandria’s Antiquities Museum can now be viewed through a newly-launched app, ‘Oculus Store’. The free app will allow people from all over the world to tour the Antiquities Museum’s collection of artefacts, most of which date back to the Hellenistic, Roman, and Byzantine eras.

Most of the museum’s artefacts were discovered during the construction of the library in 1995, making it one of the few museums globally where antiquities were excavated and showcased at the same location. The new app is part of Bibliotheca Alexandrina’s efforts to digitise its extensive archive.
