Clean UAE 2025 Launches in Dubai With 8,500 Volunteers
Volunteers cleared more than 12 kilometres in Bur Ruwayyah and segregated 7,970 kg of waste for recycling.
The 24th edition of the national environmental campaign Clean UAE has officially kicked off in Dubai, drawing 8,500 volunteers to begin the initiative with a clean-up of over 12 kilometres of natural terrain in Bur Ruwayyah. Volunteers spread across designated zones, working to collect and sort waste for recycling. The results were concrete: 5,570 kg of general waste, plus 1,000 kg of paper, 500 kg each of scrap metal and glass, 350 kg of plastic and 50 kg of aluminium cans — all transported to recycling facilities. Campaign organisers provided sustainable materials for the effort, including cotton t-shirts and biodegradable bags. The campaign is run by Emirates Environmental Group (EEG), under the patronage of the Ministry of Climate Change and Environment, and aims to span all seven Emirates before concluding in Abu Dhabi on December 16th, 2025.
