Dar Al Ifta Announces Minimum Zakat Al Fitr of EGP 35 Per Person
The value for Fidyah, aka compensation for missed fasting, has also been set at EGP 30.

Dar Al Iftaa and Dr. Shawki Allam, the Grand Mufti of Egypt and the head of the General Secretariat for Fatwa Boards worldwide, have set the value of Zakat Al Fitr, charity given at the end of Ramadan, at EGP 35 per person at a minimum.
Additionally, Allam has set the value of Fidyah - compensation for missed fasting due to a legitimate and continuous reason - at EGP 30 this year.
The estimation of Zakat al-Fitr for this year was coordinated with the Islamic Research Complex under the presidency of Dr. Ahmed El Tayeb, the Grand Imam of Al-Azhar.
