Dubai Electricity & Water Authority Launches Services on ChatGPT
Customers can check and pay bills, view account details and find electric vehicle chargers through ChatGPT.
Dubai Electricity and Water Authority has launched a range of customer services through the ChatGPT Apps Directory, enabling users to access billing and account support directly via the AI platform. The authority said the rollout makes it the first government entity and the first utility globally to offer services through an artificial intelligence interface outside of traditional websites and mobile applications.
Through ChatGPT, customers can check and pay electricity and water bills, review account details, and receive billing-related support using conversational prompts. The service also allows users to locate DEWA’s EV Green Charger stations and receive directions to the nearest charging point. Information on Customer Happiness Centres, including locations, operating hours and contact details, is also available within the platform.
DEWA stated that the integration operates within a secure framework designed to protect customer data, with services delivered through advanced AI models that provide quick and consistent responses. Additional services are expected to be added gradually, in line with the authority’s security, privacy and governance standards.
According to DEWA, the launch is intended to improve accessibility and response times by meeting customers on widely used digital platforms.
