Dubai Highways Go Green With Major Planting Initiative
Multiple key intersections in the city were beautified with an estimated 1 million plant seedlings as well as 3,000 trees.
The Dubai Municipality has planted 2.5 million flowers and 6,500 trees across multiple highways in seven major areas of the city, as part of the ‘Green Dubai’ initiative. This effort spans 843,000 square metres, with an additional 290,000 square metres dedicated to erosion protection, to increase green space per capita.
Multiple key intersections in the city were beautified as a result of the greening efforts with an estimated 1 million plant seedlings as well as 3,000 trees. The projects included 143,654 square metres of soil mulch to conserve soil moisture, improve fertility and improve overall plant health.
