Dubai International Airport Welcomed 86.9 Million Passengers in 2023
This figure is only a few million away from the all time record of 89.1 million in 2018.
The number of passengers travelling through Dubai International Airport has finally exceeded 2019’s pre-pandemic figure, with nearly 86.9 million people using the airport in 2023.
The airport continues to be the world’s busiest for international travel, and whilst this number is still shy of the all-time high of 89.1 million recorded in 2018, the data shows that that air travel has well and truly bounced back since its near-total grounding in 2020. The number of passengers passing through DXB’s towering terminal halls has for some time served as a barometer for the worldwide aviation industry.
This figure represents a huge surge compared to the same date from the previous year; only 66 million passengers passed through Dubai International in 2022. 100 international airlines operating from the airport boast 262 destinations spread across 104 countries. And with Dubai announcing record numbers of tourists in 2023, it appears that an increasing number of Dubai International’s visitors are not simply transiting, but arriving at their desired destination.
