Dubai RTA Launches 40 Air-Conditioned Rest Zones for Delivery Riders
The newly established rest areas are designed to reduce sun exposure while ensuring visibility.

Dubai’s Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) has unveiled 40 air-conditioned rest areas across the emirate, designed to improve the working conditions of delivery riders.
The newly established rest areas, which can accommodate up to 10 riders each, offer dedicated parking spaces for motorcycles and are strategically designed to reduce sun exposure while ensuring visibility, thus enhancing safety for riders who often work in extreme weather conditions.
Located in 23 key areas throughout Dubai, including Hessa Street, Dubai Marina, Jumeirah, and the World Trade Centre, the facilities aim to support Dubai's Traffic Safety Strategy, which seeks to achieve ‘Zero Fatalities’. As of June, Dubai was home to 2,535 motorcycle delivery companies operating 46,600 bikes.
In addition to these rest areas, the RTA has further enhanced the sector with professional certification programs for delivery riders and the Delivery Service Excellence Award, which recognizes top-performing companies and riders based on safety, compliance, and customer satisfaction.
