Eco-Friendly Buses Introduced to New Administrative Capital
The bus was locally-built by state-owned El-Nasr Automotive, first established in 1960 and known for the ‘Shahin’ budget car.
El-Nasr Automotive Manufacturing Company, a state-owned enterprise, introduced an eco-friendly bus for trial operations in the New Administrative Capital (NAC). The bus has been handed over to ACTA, a local mass transit company responsible for the NAC's transportation services.
Established in 1960 as the first automotive production firm in the Middle East, El-Nasr has previously focused on assembling Italian Fiat cars. Notably, the company also introduced the popular 'Shahin' budget car, which was a hybrid model based on the Turkish version of Fiat.
Minister of Public Sector Mahmoud Esmat revealed an integrated plan to transform the decades-old company and stated that negotiations with international companies to transfer and localise electric vehicle manufacturing technology are at an advanced stage.
