Egypt Will Soon Be Home to the First Greek University Campus Abroad
The University of Patros’ Alexandria campus will be fully operational by 2025.
Following a recent agreement between the Greek government and the Greek Community of Alexandria, the University of Patros will open in the city of Alexandria in 2025. This will be the first time a Greek university has set up a campus abroad.
Founded in 1964, the University of Patros is the third largest university in Greece, and includes 24 multidisciplinary departments divided between five schools. The Alexandria Campus will have two departments: a Greek-speaking department, and an English-speaking department. The campus will offer a range of subjects including Greek culture, language and philosophy. The lecturing staff will be made up of professors from the University of Pathos in Greece along with a number of other external collaborators.
