Egypt’s First Plant Converting Waste to Energy Will Be Built in Giza
The project will serve as the first step in creating a nationwide eco-friendly waste management system.
The Ministry of Military Production has announced that it will implement a project creating a municipal solid waste treatment plant, which will convert waste into electricity. The project is planned to be constructed in Giza’s Abu Rawash area, and will be capable of converting around 1,200 tons of waste into 30 megawatts of energy per day.
The waste treatment plant will be the first of its kind in Egypt and intends to provide eco-friendly benefits to the country. The project is the initial step in a nationwide environmentally-friendly waste management system.
The project is a collaboration between the Ministry and Green Tech Egypt, a member of the Renergy Group Partners LLC.
