Egypt's Population Grows By 1 Million in Seven Months
Egypt has grown by one million people in 232 days between July 2021 and February 2022, adding up to a total of 103 million people. That's one new person every 20 seconds.

Another one million people in Egypt already? According to the Central Agency for Public Mobilization and Statistics, the Egyptian population isn't showing any signs of slowing down, having grown by one million people in 232 days between July 2021 and February 2022, adding up to a total of 103 million people. That's one new person every 20 seconds. For reference, the last time the country grew by one million people, it took 275 days.
It's not too much of a surprise considering that a CAPMAS report in August 2021 showed that Egypt has the eight highest birth rate in the world. While Egypt plans to ease overcrowding by building 20 new cities - which would accommodate 30 million people – we have to wonder just when we're going to hit our next million people. Anyone want to bet on 200 days this time?
