Egypt’s Population Hits 107 Million as Growth Rate Slows
The new report by CAPMAS shows that the annual birth rate still exceeds two million, which may continue to strain the country’s resources.
Egypt’s population has reached 107 million people, according to a new report from the Central Agency for Public Mobilization and Statistics (CAPMAS).
The increase of one million residents since February 2024 comes after a steady decline in birth rates, showing the impact of ongoing national initiatives to manage population growth. Egypt’s average daily births have decreased from 5,683 since the previous million-milestone to 5,385 now.
However, with annual births still exceeding two million, population growth continues to strain the country’s resources, creating social, economic, and environmental pressures.
