Egyptian Government Aims to Provide 8 Million Jobs by 2030
This plan aims to strengthen employment prospects in Egypt over the next decade.
The Egyptian government has unveiled a plan to create 7 to 8 million new jobs in Egypt by 2030. This initiative focuses on infrastructure projects, particularly those in the vicinity of the Suez Canal, foreseen to contribute approximately 5 million job opportunities. Simultaneously, the strategy incorporates plans for generating 3 million positions for Egyptian workers abroad during this period.
A pivotal objective is the reduction of unemployment, which currently averages at 7.6% of the total population. In a parallel effort, small businesses are poised to receive substantial support, with an estimated 900,000 additional jobs anticipated to emerge.
