Free Slaughterhouse Services for Eid Al Adha Offered in Cairo
These services include check-ups for the sacrificial animals, slaughtering facilities, water and animal accommodation.
The Governorate of Cairo has announced that its slaughterhouses will be open for free to citizens throughout the Eid Al Adha holidays. The Director of the Veterinary Medicine Directorate in Cairo confirmed that the Governor approved this initiative to address the issue of street slaughtering and to maintain cleanliness.
The free services are available exclusively to the public, and are not available to traders or charitable organizations. These services include medical check-ups for the sacrificial animals, provision of slaughtering facilities, water, animal accommodation and parking spaces, although citizens need to bring their own butcher.
The slaughterhouses offering free services during Eid include Al-Ali, Jerko, Al-Salam, Al-Mumtaz, Tura and Helwan, all operating 24 hours a day. The complimentary services cover pre-slaughter animal inspections, meat inspections, and accommodation until the end of the slaughtering process.
