Interior Ministry: Dahab Harassment Incident Perpetrator Not Israeli
The ministry stated that legal actions have been taken and clarified that the individual depicted in the video is not of Israeli nationality.
Egypt’s Ministry of Interior responded to a widely circulated video on social media dated October 12th, depicting an individual of foreign nationality verbally harassing two Egyptian women in Dahab, South Sinai Governorate, and claiming to be Israeli. The video captures the perpetrator referring to the women as ‘animals’ and laying claim to Sinai.
After conducting an investigation, the ministry clarified that the individual depicted in the video belongs to a different foreign country and is not of Israeli nationality. Subsequently, the women lodged a complaint with security authorities regarding the verbal abuse. Legal actions have been initiated, and the necessary measures are underway against the offender, as per the ministry's statement.
