King Salman Converts Eye Hospital into Independent Non-Profit
Under the newly issued Founding Law, the hospital will operate as the King Khaled Eye Specialist Hospital and Research Center.
King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud has approved the transformation of the King Khaled Eye Specialist Hospital into an independent non-profit organization. Under the newly issued Founding Law, the hospital will now operate as the King Khaled Eye Specialist Hospital and Research Center (KKEHRC), falling under the Royal Commission for Riyadh City (RCRC).
The transformation is part of a national initiative to strengthen the role of non-profit institutions within the Kingdom’s healthcare system. The hospital’s new status as an independent non-profit organization is intended to improve the quality and efficiency of services, while ensuring it continues to contribute to the health and well-being of the nation’s citizens. It also hopes to position the King Khaled Eye Specialist Hospital as a global leader in eye care.
The hospital’s new status aligns with ongoing reforms in the Kingdom’s healthcare sector, including the transformation of other key institutions such as King Saud University and King Faisal Specialist Hospital.
