New Programme to Boost Egypt's Skilled Labour Exports to Saudi Arabia
The certificate aims to give credibility to Egyptian workers seeking vocational employment in the Kingdom through accredited professional assessment tests.
The Ministry of Labour has launched a professional certification programme that aims to increase the number of skilled Egyptian workers in Saudi Arabia.
The certificates will give credibility to Egyptian workers seeking vocational employment abroad and also help to combat the pervasiveness of forged certificates. The certification programme comes as the result of an agreement signed between Egyptian and Saudi governments last October, intending to help Egyptian workers meet Saudi requirements established by its new Professional Accreditation System whilst boosting the Saudi labour market's quality and productivity.
The programme introduces professional assessment tests for six vocational occupations, including plumbing, electrical work, and welding. Once the tests are passed, the free certificate will be valid for five years. Applications for the programme can be completed at the International SVP website.
