New Ring Road Metro Station Will Open This October
The expansion of Cairo's metro system aims to alleviate congestion and provide better transportation options for citizens.
Construction on Cairo’s Ring Road Metro Station is near completion. Scheduled to open in October, the station is part of the second section of the third phase of the third metro line (3B).
The third phase covers a distance of 17.7 km and includes 15 stations, stretching from Attaba to Kit Kat Square. The line branches northward to Imbaba and the Ring Road, while its southern branch extends to Mohandiseen and Boulaq al-Dakrour, passing through key streets like Wadi al-Nil and Arab League Streets before reaching Cairo University.
The ongoing expansion project is divided into three parts, with the first section already operational. The second section spans 6.6 km, encompassing underground, overhead, and surface stations. The final section will cover 7.1 km, connecting Kit Kat to Cairo University.
The completion of the Ring Road Metro Station and the expansion of Cairo's metro system aim to alleviate congestion, enhance connectivity, and provide efficient transportation options for the city's growing population.
