New Sea Route Will Shorten Trade Times Between Egypt & US to 13 Days
The cargo line between the port of Damietta in Egypt and East America will be the fastest route between the two continents.
Korean shipping company HMM, formerly known as Hyundai Merchant Marine, has launched a new sea line route to shorten trade times between Egypt and the USA to 13 Days. Expected to be the fastest sea route yet, the new cargo line will link Egypt’s Damietta port with the ports of America’s east coast.
In October 2023, HMM also launched another line that connects the port of Damietta and East Asian countries such as China. Meanwhile, in the same year, the Central Agency for Public Mobilization and Statistics (CAPMAS) revealed that Egypt’s exports witnessed a surge of 19.4% in 2022, reaching a value of USD 52.1 billion.
