New Wells Will Be Built to Enhance Production at Zohr Gas Field
PETROBEL is planning to introduce a new well to increase production by the end of October 2023.
Preparations are underway to create a new well at the Zohr gas field by the end of October 2023, with many new wells to be drilled in 2024 and 2025.
The Zohr gas field is the largest natural gas field in the Mediterranean, and represents around 38% of Egypt’s gas production. Its discovery in 2018 enabled Egypt to cease gas imports and become a net exporter of natural gas.
PETROBEL, a subsidiary company of the national Egyptian General Petroleum Corporation, has announced that in the fiscal year 2022/2023, the Zohr gas field produced 2.4 billion cubic feet of natural gas, accompanied by approximately 3700 barrels per day of condensates.
