Red Sea Global Scuba Centres to Train Divers With Disabilities
Two of Red Sea Global’s centres have received a five-star rating from the Professional Association of Diving Instructors.
Two diving centres owned by Red Sea Global are now certified to train scuba divers with disabilities, making them the first of their kind in Saudi Arabia.
The diving centres at the Nujuma, Ritz-Carlton Reserve and Turtle Bay both received a five-star rating from the Professional Association of Diving Instructors for expertise in providing diving experiences in challenging locations. The rating requires each centre to have instructors proficient in disability-adaptive techniques, as well as ensuring wheelchair accessibilities to all areas in the facilities, including the diving zone and any boats used for diving experiences.
Diving instructors were taken through an intensive three-day training program which simulated various physical and visual impairments, and were taught techniques for guiding divers with disabilities safely.
