Riyadh Metro Hits Record 100 Million Passengers in Nine Months

Riyadh Metro has officially crossed the 100 million passenger mark since launching in December 2024. In under nine months, the network - recognised as the world’s longest driverless metro - has transformed daily commutes across the city while maintaining a high on-time performance rate of 99.7%.

Among its six lines, the Blue Line leads ridership with 46.5 million passengers, followed by the Red Line with 17 million and the Orange Line with 12 million. Key stations such as Qasr Al-Hokm, KAFDA, and the National Museum account for over 29% of total footfall.

The metro’s 100 millionth passenger, Saudi citizen Masaad Al-Obaid, was recognised with a complimentary travel card granting free trips. The milestone highlights Riyadh Metro’s growing role in easing congestion and supporting the city’s transition toward smart mobility as part of Vision 2030.
