Saudi Arabia to Export Industrial Robots by May

The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia will start exporting industrial robots by May 2025, according to a statement by Amir Midha, CEO of Alat, an industrial company backed by the Saudi Public Investment Fund. According to Alat, these industrial robots are designed to perform manufacturing tasks three to five times faster than humans. The robots will be locally manufactured in Riyadh, and then distributed regionally and globally.

The project follows Alat’s partnership agreement with SoftBank Group, a Japanese multinational investment company, in February 2025.

As a result of a USD 2 billion deal with Chinese tech giant Lenovo, Alat announced that Saudi Arabia will also export laptops, notebooks, PCs, and servers to international destinations by the end of 2025.

Launched in February 2024, Alat has been working to create an international manufacturing hub based in Saudi Arabia powered by clean energy.
