Saudi Music Commission Launches Program for Students With Disabilities
The initiative supports students with disabilities in learning music across Riyadh, Jeddah and Al Khobar.

The Music Commission has launched an initiative aimed at expanding access to music education for students with disabilities in Saudi Arabia. Titled ‘Supporting People with Disabilities in Music Education’, the program will unfold over a seven-month period beginning in April, and will be held in three major cities: Riyadh, Jeddah and Al Khobar.
The program targets students with disabilities enrolled in general education, offering them the opportunity to learn the fundamentals of music through specially designed teaching methods. The initiative is structured around group-based activities intended to encourage creativity, foster social inclusion, and develop musical skills in a collaborative environment.
Led by specialised instructors, the program includes workshops, joint performances, and culminating showcases in each participating city. The initiative aligns with broader national efforts to position music as a tool for self-expression and social empowerment.
Established in February 2020, the Music Commission is tasked with overseeing and regulating the Kingdom’s music sector. Its responsibilities include talent development, public engagement, and the expansion of music education, production, and performance.
