Saudi Wins Gold in Archery at Largest Regional Female Sporting Event

Saudi club Al-Thuqbah emerged victorious in the archery competition at the 2024 Arab Women’s Sports Tournament (AWST), securing a 6-0 victory over hosts Sharjah in the final.

The gold medal-winning performance by Al-Thuqbah was delivered by archers Sarah Saloum, Shaden Al-Marshud, Sama Kanfar, and Lina Al-Munajem.

The ASWT saw the Kingdom's delegation, consisting of 32 athletes, participating in athletics, basketball, karate, and archery. The seventh edition of the tournament featured four Saudi clubs, namely Capital, Al-Ittihad, Al-Khaleej, and Al-Thuqbah.

Organized by the Sharjah Women’s Sports Foundation, the AWST stands as the largest female-only sporting event in the region, hosting 560 athletes from 63 clubs representing 15 Arab countries this year.
