South Korea Backs 14 Development Projects in Egypt Worth USD50 Million

South Korea is implementing 14 development projects throughout Egypt, at a total cost of USD 50 million. These projects include the development of the third line of the Cairo Metro and the construction of the Korean-Egyptian Technological University, as well as initiatives to help improve healthcare and raise awareness on women's issues. Five of the development projects are expected to be complete by the end of 2021, while the other nine will continue into 2022.

In May 2021, Egypt was appointed as South Korea's priority strategic partner in the Middle East and North Africa. Egypt has helped serve as a strategic centre for Korean companies throughout the region, and through this partnership, South Korea is able to implement their development work from 2021 to 2025.
