Egyptian squash players Salma Hany and Youssef Soliman have won the women’s and men’s Australian Open respectively, securing an all-Egyptian title for the tournament. Even the second place prize went to an Egyptian, with Hany battling compatriot Amina Arafi in the final, eventually coming out on top. Meanwhile, Soliman took on France’s Victor Cruouin.
Hany took the title in 46 minutes, beating Arafi in straight games, before the men’s bout got underway. As second seed, Soliman started strong by winning the first two games. Crouin fought back to claim one for himself, before Soliman finished the match in the fourth.
