Temporary Electricity Meters to Be Installed in Unregulated Buildings
Citizens in buildings that violate permits will be given access to electricity until their legal status is resolved.

Temporary digital electricity meters are set to be installed in buildings that violate construction permits.
Unregulated buildings have continuously been regarded as an issue with electricity companies, given their ambiguous status. However, the Constitutional Court has ruled in favour of installing the electricity meters, which will allow residents to have access to electricity until their legal status is resolved.
Recently the Egyptian cabinet approved a new reconciliation draft law addressing permit violations, including a range of requests made by residents and owners of these buildings, in order to create flexible solutions as long as the buildings aren’t a risk to security or safety.
