Oscar-winning US actor Adrien Brody has raised USD 275,000 during a charity auction organised by the Society of Autism Families, a charity group dedicated to people with autism. The auction was put together by Formula E to celebrate the ABB FIA Formula E World Championship in Diriyah, and sold a wealth of one-of-a-kind items including jewellery, cars and Cristiano Ronaldo's Nassr FC football jersey.
Brody presented a painting of his own creation, titled 'Big Heart', to the auction, which sold for USD 275,000.
Amongst the other items sold at the auction was a Dior pearl choker necklace that once graced the neck of Princess Charlene of Monaco, Puma running spikes signed by Olympic champion sprinter Usain Bolt, and an opportunity to drive the Formula E GEN3 car around the Diriyah circuit. The auction raised USD 1.8 million for three charities, namely the Society of Autism Families, the Princess Charlene of Monaco Foundation, and the Nelson Mandela Foundation.
