US President Trump Confirms Plans to Visit UAE as Part of Gulf Tour

US President Donald Trump recently confirmed plans to visit several Gulf states including the UAE, Saudi Arabia and Qatar in mid-May, marking his first official foreign trip since the start of his second term in office. The visit aims to strengthen economic and security partnerships between the United States and its Gulf allies.

Speaking from the White House, Trump confirmed the trip is likely to take place "next month, maybe a little later," highlighting that the tour will result in major investment deals, including military agreements. “Tremendous jobs will be created in those two or three days,” Trump said.

While the full agenda has not yet been disclosed, the Gulf tour is expected to include discussions on regional security and investment, with potential deals that could reach into the hundreds of billions of dollars. The UAE visit is expected to include meetings focused on advanced defence procurement, clean energy, and joint technology development.

Trump’s visit comes as the UAE continues to position itself as a key strategic and economic partner to the US in the Middle East, particularly in the fields of renewable energy, space cooperation, and regional mediation. The UAE previously hosted Trump administration officials during key diplomatic initiatives, including the Abraham Accords in 2020.

Trump’s upcoming visit to Saudi Arabia is expected to include a sweeping investment agreement that could see Saudi Arabia commit up to USD 1 trillion in the United States.

Trump’s 2025 tour echoes his 2017 trip, when Saudi Arabia served as the first stop on his inaugural international tour as President.
