Unemployment Rate Falls to 7.6% Among Saudi Nationals
Male and female employment rates increased to 66.4% and 35.8% respectively in the first quarter of 2024.

In the first quarter of 2024, the unemployment rate among Saudi Arabian nationals dropped to 7.6% of the population. This time last year, the rate was at 8.7%.
On a quarterly basis, the unemployment rate decreased by 0.2%, from 7.8%, in the last three months. Male and female employment rates increased to 66.4% and 35.8% respectively in the first quarter of 2024, with the total unemployment rate residing at 3.6%.
A labour force survey conducted by General Authority for Statistics also indicated that 96% of unemployed Saudis are open to accepting job offers in the private sector, the majority of which are ready to work for over eight hours per day.
