Dara's Ice Cream & Eby Bakehouse Collaborate on ‘Crookies’

One thing we can confidently agree on is that nothing has taken over Egypt's culinary scene quite as swiftly as ‘crookies’. Once as ambiguous as Tiramisoup (yes, we just made that up, but take notes, Italian eateries), crookies are now being churned out by every artisanal bakery and its proverbial corporate counterpart by the dozens.
In case you’ve been living under a rock, crookies are the almost-alchemical fusion of croissants and cookies. Split in the middle, filled with cookie dough, and baked to perfection, the result is a heavenly combination that the world never knew it needed, but certainly does.
Hopping on the crookie train, two of Egypt’s leading sweet-tooth-satisfying connoisseurs, Dara’s Ice Cream and Eby’s Bakehouse, have joined forces to produce a flaky, fresh, and gooey crookie. Bringing together Eby’s classic croissant with Dara’s signature cookie and caramel-drizzled vanilla ice cream, Dara Ghosheh and Youssef El Ebiary made the magic happen.
Shown in a series of behind-the-scenes videos trying out the very first edition of their gorgeous, sugar-loaded creation, Ghosheh and El Ebiary’s excitement is almost palpable. One can only assume the sugar rush from this bad boy means serious business.
The crookie is available to try out at Dara’s. Just don’t forget your insulin shot.
